New Life 2026 Staffing FAQ

Q: What is Nevin’s role?
Nevin Weigert is our Director of Student and Young Adult Life. This position is focused on investing in the age 13-30 age group. He will lead both CREW and YAM.
Q: When does Nevin start?
A: Nevin will officially begin on July 12, 2026. He will be transitioning into his position over the course of the summer.
Q: What does this mean for Steph?
A: Steph Harms will be stepping into leadership over our “IN” environment. Her position will be focused on investing in our small group ministry. The goal of her position is to deepen connection, discipleship, and community across our church.
Q: When will Steph start in her new role?
A: Over the course of the summer and into the fall, Steph will transition out of her roles in CREW and New Life Kids and into her new role. The intention is for her to transition out of her role in CREW in the beginning of fall. The transition out of New Life Kids will be through the end of the calendar year and possibly into the first part of next year.
Q: Who is going to lead New Life Kids?
A: We are in prayer over the leadership of New Life Kids and trusting in God’s timing. This could potentially be filled by a dedicated volunteer or embedded as part of a staff position. We are excited to see how God is calling the right person into leadership in this capacity.
Q: What is Emilie’s role?
A:Emilie Dahm was hired in April as our Operations and HR Director. Her role focuses on implementing and strengthening the operational systems that support our ministry, as well as supporting our staff through human resource management.
Q: Who is the church secretary/admin assistant?
A: We do not currently have a dedicated church secretary. Emilie Dahm, our Operations & HR Director, is overseeing these administrative tasks with the support of a volunteer team. If you are interested in volunteering to help cover office and admin needs, please contact Emilie at emilie@newlifeplymouth.com.
Q: When is Darren retiring?
A: Darren Lindstrom, our Finance Clerk, will be retiring this coming September. We are grateful for his four years of service to New Life!
Q: With Pastor Sam on sabbatical, what is a sabbatical, who is doing his responsibilities, and when will he be coming back?
A: A sabbatical is an intentional season of rest and renewal. We recognize that ministry can take a toll not only on staff members but also on their families. Because of this, we view a sabbatical as an important opportunity for rest and restoration, allowing time to focus on life-giving relationships with God, family, and others. Throughout Scripture, we see that God provides rhythms of work and rest, and at times, extended seasons of rest are especially necessary.

During Pastor Sam’s sabbatical, his responsibilities have been thoughtfully distributed among our staff team, elders, and some lay leaders. If you’re unsure who is overseeing a particular area, please feel free to reach out to Emilie for guidance.

We anticipate beginning Pastor Sam’s transition back in early September. This will be a gradual re-entry, with limited duties at first, as he readjusts and becomes reacclimated.

We encourage our church family to be in continual prayer over Sam, Kate, and their family throughout this sabbatical season.
