"My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in your weakness."
2 Corinthians 12:9

In my experience, this scripture was used to combat mindsets of pride and shame that continued to show up in my life. Learning to believe the truth that God's sufficient grace covers anything and everything I could ever do - diminishing the option of shame. The power of God being made perfect in my weakness and shortcoming, allowing no room for my pride or need for perfection.

Do you also struggle with choosing shame over sufficient grace?
Do you also struggle with believing imperfection and weakness is access to Gods strength?

This wrestling and way of thinking revealed what I now see as the Moses Mindset.

When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, this was his response,

Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” -Exodus 3:11

“Then Moses said to the LORD, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” -Exodus 4:10

“But he said, “O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send.” -Exodus 4:13

Moses went right to shame, telling God how inadequate he was. Seeing himself in such a way that does NOT line up with how God sees Him. Sound familiar? I know it does for me.

Gods response revealed the pride side of things. In shame we are only focusing on ourselves - that's pride. Moses didn't acknowledge Gods power and strength - he only focused on the lack of his own.

Like Moses, God has a mighty calling on your life - a calling that requires a sufficient grace/power in weakness mindset. Not a Moses mindset of pride and shame.

Has a Moses mindset been holding you back from Gods calling on your life? What has been lingering in your heart to step into but you keep hearing how unrealistic it is? Does It seem so unrealistic you haven't even shared it out loud? Or you can share it but feel stuck in taking any action, because... like Moses felt, who are you to __________?

Exactly. You cant do _____. I cant do ____. BUT by the grace and power of God - WE CAN.

What's the thing that a Moses mentality has been keeping you from? I challenge you to wrestle with God as Moses did - but don't stay there. Journal about what it would look like to walk into that idea or vision as if the most powerful spirit in all creation was giving you the ability to do it. Oh wait... you do!

Our purpose here on earth to is know God and make Him known. That looks differently for each and every person - you have gifts and ideas and a calling specific to you. Anytime you hear "I can't" crush that Moses mentality with "No, I can't but the Holy Spirit in me CAN - and Gods grace is sufficient for me - His power is made perfect in my weakness"

What if the whole body of Christ operated in that mindset?

Lets do it ourselves - encourage others and find out!
