Yesterday we looked at the power of pain, grief, loss, anxiety, worry in conceiving to raising children and all points between. Ultimately naming the fact that those things happen, but how do we trust God in the midst of those things, because the world is broken and God didn’t do this to you. Building trust is inviting God into your grief and unfulfilled dreams.
Let me fast forward briefly to how Jesus shared a story that indirectly applies to this.

Matthew 7:24-29- 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does notput them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

What’s the moral of the story?

What’s your foundation?

Our foundation doesn’t exempt us from storms in life. Our foundation ensures how we go through those storms. If our foundation is on anything but Jesus, our life will wash away when storms come.

But if our foundation is on Jesus, as our rock, we can weather the storm, no matter how unexpected or intense or destructive, we will still stand with Jesus.

Besides, Jesus says in John 16:33-, “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart for I have overcome the world.” God’s response to brokenness is acknowledging pain, worry, anxiety, and hardship, but can you trust him despite the grief?

"Lord, we thank You that You didn't curse us, but instead made a way back to Your presence through Jesus. Help us live as victors, not victims. Meet us in our pain, and teach us to trust You even when we don't understand. In Jesus' name, amen."
