Faith Essentials: Fasting

Fasting

Thursday, April 2nd

35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35

This passage and context of everything around it is so crazy important!  Take some time today reading through John 6, it starts off with the feeding of the 5000 and then Jesus walking on the water.

Jesus was doing these incredible miracles that only happen through the supernatural! All of His miracles were continuing to show them the identity of who He was and is, The Son of The Most High God. Yet, they were blind, they were never enough for the people, they always wanted more. The people wanted Jesus only for substance, things of this world, what they could see.

Are we any different today?

What Jesus is saying here is our need to be completely reliant on Him!  He goes onto teach and share in verses 47-58 about the Last Supper and He is the living bread that has come down from Heaven and if anyone eats and drinks of Him they will live forever in eternity!

Through Christ's death, resurrection and ascension into Heaven we truly live in His authority!  Even today his signs are all around us, are we opening our eyes and hearts to observe them?

These have been some of my favorite verses to go to whenever I fast.  Remembering and rejoicing in who He is and what He did for me/us!  The more we choose Jesus as our bread of Life, He fills us spirituality, emotionally, physically… HE supplies our every need!

I pray over you as you read this and meditate on the words, May God show up in your thoughts to affirm and confirm His love for YOU!

Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
