Gail shared a story of a painful secret her family held for many years. She stated that unwanted things are going to happen in our lives. She also posed several questions and challenges.

Reflect on your own life, what unwanted things have happened to you or those around you? How did you and those around you handle them? Was God present during all that occurred?

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2-3

Do you have the courage and faith to invite others into your pain; to allow them to care for you and your heart? Can you walk through the waters, through the river, through the fire knowing God is with you and will not forsake you?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Are you able to fully trust the Lord in all you do? Or, do you find yourself trying to solve everything on your own?
