Day 1: Prayer Time

The picture above was taken at the Carter Caves State Park, a beautiful space we got to
explore on our adventure day. We had no clue what the day would hold, except for
adventure. We hiked to the Smokey Valley Lake & spent intentional time in prayer. First we
spent five to ten minutes of intentional time praying by ourselves. Next, we huddled into a
circle to find a partner for team prayer time. We stood in a circle, put our heads down then
on the count of three looked up at one person. If you locked eyes, you were partners! We
then shared our prayer requests from alone time & prayed over one another.

Prayer is more powerful than we understand. If we did, we wouldn't stop praying. Inviting
others to be in prayer over you also allows others to care for you & see below the surface.
We can’t care for what we aren't allowed to see.

God's word tells us in Psalms 55:17 that King David cries out to the Lord morning, noon &
night. He was called a man after Gods own heart & prayer was a foundational piece in that.

The encouragement of today's daily devotional is to spend intentional prayer time this
week alone & with others.
