The Coming Of Christmas... In Unexpected Ways 

Jesus Comes In Small, Unnoticeable Ways

Read Zechariah 4:6-10- 6 So he (angel) said to me (Zechariah), “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. 7 “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’” 8 Then the word of the Lord came to me (Zechariah): 9 “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. 10 “Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone (plumb line) in the hand of Zerubbabel?”

Notice the powerful statement in verse seven, “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground.

With that statement, the reader should have images of Zerubbabel’s great, great, great….. grandson Jesus, when he said in Matthew 17:20-“Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Jesus isn’t calling out small faith, he celebrates even the smallest of faith. The challenge is, where do you place your faith? Yes, our faith needs to grow, more and more, it is the confirmation of God’s Spirit and the Power of the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, that we have the power.

Which means the mountain means nothing, the rebuilding of the Temple means nothing, the obstacle before you means nothing when we move by the Spirit.

What is the obstacle before you, that seems like a mountain, but in God’s view is a molehill? What is before you, that seems so daunting to climb, that you in God’s spirit, is but a step?
Meet with God today, confess where you see your obstacle as bigger than him. Then realign with
Ephesians 3:19-20- 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
